The Taj Mahal Short Note
The Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is a magnificent building. It is a tomb situated on the bank of the river, Jamuna. It was built by emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal.
Twenty thousand workers worked for 20 years to complete the splendid building. The tomb stands on a raised platform. It is made of white marble. In the large hall, the Queen was buried. Black and white marble has been used everywhere on the pavement. The windows are made of marble screens. The walls are engraved with beautiful flowers and verses from the holy Quran.
They are decorated with precious stones of different colours. The dome stands in the middle with four magnificent minars on four sides. There is a green lawn with flowers in front of it. A canal of clear water with fountains adds to its beauty. The Taj is worth seeing on a full moon night. Thousands of visitors from far and near come to enjoy its beauty.
